Jesus was repeatedly rejected and slowly everyone seemed to turn on him. Even his own brother. Chapter 7 says that Jesus was teaching at a Jewish festival where most of the people felt that He was deceiving and not really who He says He is. Through all of this He still teaches to the public, opening the invitation to all who are thirsty. Our God doesn’t give up on His children.

I’m asking the Lord to make me like John. God gave him vision. Vision to see beyond. The vision of Christ Himself. I admire the way John responds to the Pharisees when asked, (v20) “Who are you?”, he declares, “I am not the Messiah.” (v23)“ I am a voice of one crying out in the wilderness: Make straight the way of the Lord.” Placing God before himself, proudly declaring Jesus is Lord! This is true worship. Washed in love, drenched with humility.
